The Aga Khan Academy in Hyderabad, south India, is the second in the network of Aga Khan Academies. It follows the highly successful model established by the first Academy, which opened in Mombasa, Kenya in 2003. A third Academy opened in Maputo, Mozambique in 2013. In the future, the network will include 18 schools located in Africa, south and central Asia, and the Middle East. The academies’ education is built on the framework of globally recognized International Baccalaureate program emphasizing critical thinking, active learning and creative problem solving.
