



According to state media, China has not lifted its requirement that an Internet filtering program be shipped with all computers sold in the country, despite the plan's recent postponement.
The developer of a Web filter backed by the Chinese government plans legal action against US researchers who say its program may have been copied from foreign software, according to state media.
In line with its efforts to control pornography and other content in the Internet, China will require that Web filtering software be included with all computers sold in the country. The move, which is meant to protect the youth from "unhealthy" information online follows a government crackdown on online smut that led to the closure of thousands of Web sites this year.
