Avaya Flare Communicator, which delivers unified communications and collaboration capabilities over WiFi and 3G networks, is now available on tablets. The new mobile solution enables enterprise-class voice, instant messaging, and presence with email integration on mobile devices.

The application can be downloaded from the Apple App store. Avaya said additional consumer devices and operating systems will be supported later this year. Businesses with Avaya Aura 6.1 or later can obtain up to 50 Avaya Aura client access licenses at no cost during an introductory offer until April 30.

Among the benefits it offers to the mobile workforce include managing two simultaneous voice calls using the iPad while mobile, multi-tasking (reading email, attending web conference or surfing the web) while using other productivity applications, searching the corporate directory and adding contacts, and using the data channel to avoid roaming charges while traveling across different cellular networks.
